Eamonn Quinn, Senior Partner at Board Matters International, is to present at a Chartered Accountants Ireland event on Tuesday, 28 February 2017 on the topic of cyber security, its effect on governance and internal audit. Eamonn will discuss matters cyber in relatively non technical way, provide some context about the sort of issues and questions organisations, their audit, compliance and risk functions in particular, should be considering when addressing cyber security and point out that a significant number of cyber security issues are created through the poor implementation of security standards, generally poor practices and out of date systems and protocols.

As cyber risk becomes a topic of greater significance, Eamonn will address the requirement for Boards to set the appropriate tone, have diversity of membership in order to fully understand cyber and an approach that is data centric in order to mitigate litigation and personal liability risk.
